Accounts Payable Accountant

The ideal candidate will have minimum 2 years’ experience in Accounts Payables

Duties:

  • Accounts Payables
  • Maintain general AP email box
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any issues related to payments or invoices, in a timely manner
  • Process vendor invoices by performing 3-way matching to ensure details match purchase order and receiving records
  • Process credit memo’s for quality returns
  • Check vendor invoices, ensuring sales and use tax is accurately charged when applicable
  • Coordinate in a prompt and professional manner with procurement, receiving and external suppliers to resolve discrepancies
  • Submit vendor invoices internally for approval to proper teams via approval system
  • Answer questions, perform research, troubleshoot and fact find whenever required
  • Monitor AP workflow ensuring appropriate approval authority, General Ledger coding and compliance with company internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Analyze vendor accounts on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure accounting of expense in proper period
  • Reviewing goods receipt / invoice receipt report in order to assure timely posting of invoices
  • Maintain historical records

  • Month End
  • Month End finance support for Journal Entries and adhering to closing schedules and strict deadlines
  • Prepare and record accruals for invoices received prior to material receipt
  • Assist with the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial results in compliance with IFRS, Sarbanes Oxley, and Corporate Compliance.

  • Audit
  • Prepare working papers, reports, & sample pulls in conjunction with quarterly and yearly external audits
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary by Management.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor degree in Accounting preferred;
  2. 2+ years’ AP experience required;
  3. SAP experience a plus;
  4. Must have good team skills to work with various team members;
  5. Attention to detail, well organized and ability to operate with consistency in a fast-paced environment ;
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  7. Multi-tasking skills required due to various deadlines ;
  8. Automotive accounting experience a plus.
