The OHSU Foundation is one of the largest public university foundations in the Northwest and exists to advance OHSU’s vital mission of creating a healthier world by igniting the power of philanthropy. Our fundraising fuels research in cancer, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s (amongst other things), and helps support Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, one of the nation’s top children’s hospitals.

We also like to have fun – Think ice cream socials, ugly sweater competitions and Trivia Nights. If you’re looking for a meaningful and rewarding career, the OHSU Foundation could be the perfect place for you To learn more about our work, check out these incredible stories of impact.

Our Values

Our values guide our work at the Foundation and help us advance our mission.

Alignment

We act on our commitment to OHSU's vision, mission and values. We engage our OHSU partners, donors and others to support programs and policies that improve health for all Oregonians and beyond, and together we collaborate to ignite the power of philanthropy to advance OHSU's education, research and health care missions.

Compassion

We honor the value of all people through our work and relationships. We show respect and kindness to our team members, donors, partners and others, which contributes to an equitable and supportive environment where all can thrive and feel a sense of belonging.

Equity

We are committed to being a deliberately anti-racist organization, centering the people who are impacted by our decisions, advocating for equitable access to health care and prioritizing equitable outcomes in our decision-making. We foster an environment of belonging. We appreciate and respect the differences across our teams, donors, partners and the vast communities impacted by our work.

Integrity

We emphasize transparency and accountability in every decision and action to build trust and credibility with our teams, donors, OHSU partners and the communities in which we live and work. We are dedicated to maximizing the impact of donor intent by being responsible stewards of the resources that have been entrusted to us.

Collaboration

We are better together. We ignite the power of philanthropy in partnership with our teams, OHSU and our donors by integrating our work and expanding on our strengths. We all succeed when we each succeed.

Pay

Salary is dependent on experience. Each salary band is broken into three "steps," which correspond with an employee’s experience/tenure, proficiency and performance in that specific role. New employees will typically start at step I of our pay band to allow for later growth, although more experienced candidates may be eligible to start at step II or III. The OHSU Foundation has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
