Ice Rink Coordinator (Part-time)

Starting at $16.00-$22.00/hour

This part-time, seasonal position will be responsible for assisting with our brand-new facility: The Rink at Stine Community Park. Tentative 2024 - 2025 ice rink operating season is December 1, 2024 - March 16, 2025. Tentative start date is November 18, 2024. Tentative end date is March 23, 2025. Position reports directly to the Recreation Supervisor during ice skating season.

DUTIES

  • Supervise and direct ice rink aides and cashiers who sell skate rentals and concessions.
  • Monitor facility, handle trash disposal, and enforce rules to ensure safety.
  • Direct ice rink activities, events, and maintenance.
  • Perform daily inspections of facility to promote safety and cleanliness.
  • Practice excellent customer service and preventative safety.
  • Assist with pre-season start-up and post-season shut-down of facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work outdoors, often in cold and snowy conditions.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School degree or GED equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (including marijuana).
  • Become certified in CPR/First Aid within 6 months of hire. (City of Troy may cover costs to obtain).

PREFERENCES

  • Certified in CPR/First Aid.
  • Prefer one to two years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Prefer Zamboni operating experience, but will train upon hire.

HOURS

Part-time, approx. 24 - 32 hours per week. Schedule and availability must be attentive to programming and customer service needs. Regular schedule includes three to four (3-4) days per week including morning, afternoon, evening, weekday, and weekend hours.
