About the State Fair of Texas

Since its inception in 1886, the State Fair of Texas has celebrated all things Texan by promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement through quality entertainment in a family-friendly environment. The State Fair of Texas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with proceeds helping to preserve and improve our home, Fair Park; underwrite museums, community initiatives, and scholarship programs to support students throughout the Lone Star State pursuing higher education; and help improve State Fair operations.

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the re-stock of coupons to sellers, as they sell through their daily stock issued each day. In This position is responsible and held accountable for the State Fair Coupons being delivered to various coupon booths located on the Fair Grounds. The Courier will sign out with the initial receipt of State Fair Coupons and upon delivery of Coupons will advise the seller to audit and sign in with receipt of State Fair Coupons.


Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding and alignment with the core values of the State Fair of Texas.
  • Adhere and enforce all rules and regulations found in the employee handbook.

EXPERIENCE and TRAINING GUIDELINES

Any combination of experience that would likely provide the required knowledge is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or higher level of education.
  • Previous work experience in customer service relations.
  • Oral and written communication.

License or Certificate:

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate Texas driver's license.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED and EXERCISED

Reports to

Work independently with minimal supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Environmental Conditions:

Working outdoors in various weather conditions and on uneven and/or slippery surfaces, as necessary, especially during Fair time and special events.

Physical Conditions:

  • Essential and other important responsibilities and duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for
  • Working in a confined space.
  • Standing on your feet for lengthy times as needed.
  • Walking long distances and carrying bags weighing various amounts.
  • Lifting boxes weighing 50lbs.

Work Schedules:

Varies depending on event.
