Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, critical, and creative Scientist or Senior Research Associate to join the CareDx R&D team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our efforts to develop, and improve gene expression based molecular tests that address unmet clinical needs for transplant patients, and improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities as follows, but not necessarily limited to:

  • Independently plan, execute, and analyze complex laboratory experiments
  • Engage in experimental design, interpretation as well as troubleshooting laboratory processes and protocols
  • Analyze data independently or in close collaboration with biostatistics and bioinformatics teams
  • Receive, process, and track clinical study samples throughout the workflows
  • Extract RNA and prepare libraries for NGS assays in medium to high throughput environment with and without automated liquid handling platforms
  • Keep detailed records/notebooks
  • Communicate work verbally or in writing
  • Participate and support the writing of protocols and reports
  • Collaborate with all functions within project teams
  • Contribute and support efforts to develop technologies, reagents, and controls necessary for diagnostic services and products

Qualifications:

  • BS +8 years of industry experience, or MS + 5-8 years of industry experience, in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry or related field.
  • Strong background in molecular biology
  • Industry experience in diagnostics, biotechnology or life sciences strongly preferred
  • Skilled in techniques for gene expression analysis such as qPCR, dPCR, and RNA sequencing
  • Experience with NGS a strong plus
  • Excellent record keeping and great attention to details
  • Skilled in oral and written communications
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting
  • Excellent time management skills.
