Position Overview

We are in search of a dedicated and innovative Senior Research Associate to become a vital part of the CareDx R&D team. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of gene expression-based molecular diagnostics aimed at addressing critical clinical requirements for transplant patients and enhancing their health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Independently design, conduct, and interpret intricate laboratory experiments.
  • Engage in experimental planning, analysis, and troubleshooting of laboratory methodologies and protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with biostatistics and bioinformatics teams for data analysis.
  • Manage the processing and tracking of clinical study samples throughout various workflows.
  • Extract RNA and prepare libraries for next-generation sequencing (NGS) assays in both medium and high throughput settings, utilizing automated liquid handling systems as necessary.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation of laboratory activities.
  • Effectively communicate findings both verbally and in written formats.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of protocols and reports.
  • Work collaboratively with all project team functions.
  • Support initiatives to develop essential technologies, reagents, and controls for diagnostic services and products.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant industry experience, or a Master’s degree with 5-8 years of experience in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
  • A robust foundation in molecular biology techniques.
  • Experience in the diagnostics, biotechnology, or life sciences sectors is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in gene expression analysis techniques, including qPCR, dPCR, and RNA sequencing.
  • Familiarity with next-generation sequencing (NGS) is a significant advantage.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong record-keeping abilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • A proven ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong time management capabilities.
