Primary Function

Serve member by gathering and completing loan applications while providing a professional and valuable member experience. Maintain accurate transactional records, support the lending department in accordance with credit union policies and procedures.


Assist the Loan Officers with the overall operation of the department. Assist in lending activity by filling out loan applications and/or disbursing loan proceeds after underwriting, gathering required support documents from member. Performs a variety of support duties related to the lending function within the credit union.

Answering questions on products and services and cross-selling multi-products to members.


Lending Skills and Qualifications

Member service, attention to detail, general math skills, verbal / written communication skills, integrity, selling to member needs, people skills, financial skills, keyboarding skills, 10-key calculator skills, ability to learn software, thoroughness and clear documentation skills. Proficient in Excel and Word software.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Employee must follow all compliance with Fair Credit Reporting Act, BSA / OFAC Policies and Procedures and any other compliance with regulations pertaining to job position

  • Receive share drafts/checks and transfers for payment to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and accurately enter payments into our computer system. All checks must comply with Regulation CC for compliance.

  • Receive mortgage, consumer loan, home equity, visa payments and other payments, and ensure the payments match the correct member number and account suffix.

  • Answer incoming calls for the loan department.

  • Processes mailed payments, payoffs, insurance checks, account research, and any other member account information as requested. Sends termination statements as needed.

  • Responsible for adhering to and enforcing all policies of the Credit Union.

  • Responsible for interviewing loan applicants, process loan applications in person, over the phone or online.

  • Presents applications and supporting documentation to loan officer for underwriting.

  • Disburses loans to members.

  • Responds to member requests for NADA valuations.

  • Ensures titles and UCC follow-up for all loans has our lien is place in a timely and properly manner.

  • Performs daily filing for the department.

  • Performs follow-up on approved loans and mortgages or those needed more information.

  • Does daily Visa functions and reports.

  • Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services.

  • Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of marketing promotions and Credit Union goals.

  • Comply with and maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies and procedures, rules and regulations (but not limited to) all dual-control functions; fair lending, and robbery procedures.

  • Report malfunctions of any equipment in a ticket to the systems department.

  • Volunteer for Community Events the credit union supports. For example, Bay County Relay for Life. Record all volunteer hours (events where you represent COPOCO Community Credit Union), within payroll system under Community Involvement or Business Development.

  • Attend educational courses, seminars, programs and workshops to increase job knowledge.

  • Contributes to team effort by performing other tasks that may be assigned by Supervisor or Management.
