Pathways Vermont Employment and Peer Support Specialist - $3000 Hiring Bonus Available*


The Company: Pathways Vermont is a dynamic nonprofit agency committed to permanently ending homelessness and offering innovative mental health services through ongoing supportive social work.


The Role: The Employment Specialist provides key employment and educational support to job seekers of all ages. The Employment Specialist fosters hope, motivation and inspiration throughout the employment process. This position is supervised by the Pathways Vermont Community Center (PVCC) Team Lead and is a member of the PVCC team. This position works directly with HireAbility to serve individuals 18-40 years old with a documented disability. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Location: In Person (Pathways Vermont Community Center (PVCC) 279 N. Winooski Ave, Burlington VT 05401)

Schedule: Full Time 9am-5pm (with flexibility as needed by program)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide job seekers with support and encouragement throughout the employment process - pre and post employment - based on each individual’s preferences in individual meetings and at Community Center Drop-in.

  • Provide employment support and peer support during Community Center Drop-in.

  • Participate in regular job development while connecting with and serving as a liaison to community partners and businesses in Chittenden County and beyond.

  • Participate in cleaning, general upkeep, collection of data, and regular reporting for Pathways Community Center and its facilities.

  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, co-reflection, individual supervision, and trainings.

  • Attendance at the annual All Staff and Programmatic Retreats is an expectation of employment with Pathways Vermont, unless excused by the employee’s manager/HR. Retreats are held on workdays, during normal working hours, and are fully paid.

  • Other Duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Willingness to share personal life struggles when appropriate.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Telephone/computer/internet/social media skills, familiarity with Google platforms preferred.

  • Ability to structure time, develop work priorities, and meet program expectations with regard to documentation.

  • Trained in and commitment to the values of Intentional Peer Support (or commitment to be trained within 6 months of hiring).

  • Willingness to self-reflect, learn, and practice new ways of being in relationships.

  • Risk and discomfort tolerance.


Compensation:

  • 20$/Hour

  • $3000 Hiring Bonus Available*

*Hiring bonus will be paid out in the first payroll cycle after the successful completion of the 60 day Orientation period
