Engages in community outreach to help families seek and secure the best early childhood education options for their child.  With the goal of increasing the number of keiki who access ECE learning programs, this position will require knowledge of early childhood education programs, subsidy programs, and resources in the State of Hawai’i to help families navigate through those systems.   Will be heavily involved in community outreach, data entry, and office reception.


§  Welcomes visitors entering INPEACE offices by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries

§  Works within the community utilizing different techniques to raise public awareness about INPEACE and its programming and other community resources; one of the required methods are community canvassing (door-to-door knocking) 

§  Identify and participate in community events in order to create awareness for INPEACE programs

§  Identify the needs for families through Individual or group coaching and referring them to resources

§  Preparation and submittal of ECE applications, subsidy programs, and other resources

§  Following up on the progress of ECE or subsidy applications, and other application processes for other resources; confirming enrollment, funding, and/or access to resource

§  Maintain positive relationships with partner agencies and families; educating participants about various community ECE programs through class or office tours

§  Enter data and maintain participant files in a timely manner

§  Assist with the coordination of the activities related to recruiting.

§  Provide progress reports as requested

§  Coordination of events and meetings, including recording of minutes, ordering of supplies and refreshments

§  Assist in the preparation of presentations to community groups

§  Other duties as requested.
