The Fireplace Service Tech position will be responsible for assisting the service manager in insuring we are delivering the best quality work and strongest customer service possible. The service tech will address all customers in a courteous, respectful manner at all times. Communicate via company cell phone; report any installation or service issues to install manager & site Supers.

Essential Functions

  1. Drive to job sites, take “finishing parts” inside and install, clean for aesthetics and run fireplace to check all quality aspects.
  2. Assist in the follow up of outstanding issues that may be beyond the abilities of inside sales team including technical troubleshooting, technical items on the NTS (need to schedule) spreadsheet, follow up phone calls and general technical phone calls.
  3. Work in the field as “emergency” jobs arise and actively work directly with Manager to follow up on these types of issues to prevent them from escalating.
  4. Actively work with customers, builders and inside sales team to foster healthy relationships and exceptional customer service.
  5. Answer questions regarding service procedures and install manual interpretation.
  6. Other Duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Ability to drive company vehicle (must meet all requirements outlined in the fleet management policy)
  • NFI certification – Or working towards it
  • 100% completion of HearthEd training
  • Comfortable with heights and climbing 40+ foot ladders
  • Ability to communicate cordially and professionally with customers

Working Conditions

Constant = 75 – 100% of the time; Frequent = 50 – 75% of the time; Occasional = 25 – 50% of the time; Rare = less than 25% of the time

Work Environment:

  • Constant - outdoors on jobsites, in commercial construction settings or exposed to the elements such as heat, cold, sunlight, darkness, wind, rain, lightning, snow and dust
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent walking on un-even and unstable surfaces (Loose Dirt, Rock, Gravel, etc.
  • Occasional climbing of ladders
  • Frequent driving on non cdl company vehicle
  • Frequent ability to lift, bend, stop, and kneel
