Job Title: Fire Alarm Service Technician

At Tech Electronics, we are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our team. As a Fire Alarm Service Technician, you will be responsible for responding to and resolving complex service calls, providing technical support and troubleshooting to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently troubleshoot and repair complex fire alarm, security, and other systems
  • Program Fire Alarm Panels and Security Systems for minor moves, adds, and changes
  • Perform Windows Server system backups and install appropriate updates and patches
  • Apply knowledge of virtual machines, system imaging, and networking to serve customer needs
  • Complete required documentation for work performed or other contractual obligations
  • Proper use of safety personal protection equipment
  • Obtain necessary security clearances as required by customers
  • Maintains an understanding of all local and national codes applicable to Tech Electronics' systems and ensures systems adhere to these codes
  • Maintains truck stock as specified by the Service Supervisor and/or Service Operations Manager to increase first-call completion of assigned service calls; provides feedback to the Service Supervisor regarding changes to truck stock to increase first-call completion
  • Obtains and maintains manufacturer and industry certifications as scheduled by the Service Supervisor and/or Service Operations Manager
  • Responsible for suggesting methods to improve operations, processes, efficiency, and service to both internal and external customers
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Level 1: Proven electro-mechanical aptitude (based on previous experience and/or education) and user PC/software skill; proficient in Microsoft Office. Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1 within 18 months
  • Level 2: 1+ years' experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems and obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 2 within 12 months
  • Ability to obtain Denver fire alarm license
  • Must be able to differentiate types/colors of wire; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • Five years working in the electronics field where AC/DC theory is used daily
  • Detailed working knowledge of the National Electric Code and the ICC International Building Code
