  • Plan, design, install, configure, operate, and maintain complex network hardware and software systems.
  • Install new networks or rebuild existing ones, ensuring proper hardware and software configuration (peripherals, services, encryption, directories, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures to ensure system standards are upheld.
  • Create, maintain, and improve network system documentation and standards.
  • Collaborate on infrastructure upgrades, including rack, stack, cabling, and labeling.
  • Perform network monitoring and troubleshooting, with a focus on Layer 1 to Layer 3 configurations.
  • Work on complex network protocols and technologies, including BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, and SDWAN.
  • Manage Cisco network devices, including Cisco Smart Software Manager and Firewalls.
  • Ensure network diagrams (cabling, rack, routing, switching, tunneling) are accurate and meet operational requirements.
  • Lead change management processes, ensuring effective cutovers and troubleshooting with minimal disruption.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on best practices and processes.
  • Design and document network processes, from initial site surveys to large-scale deployments.
  • Test configurations and develop training materials for team development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Layer 1: Strong understanding of Bill of Material creation, rack, stack, cable management, labeling, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Layer 3: Expertise in protocols like BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, and SDWAN.
  • Proficient in managing Cisco Smart Software Manager and Firewall Management Console.
  • Ability to conduct site surveys and execute Layer 3 tasks effectively.
  • Experience with large-scale network deployments, including POE, access points, and endpoint device configurations.
  • Familiarity with fiber optics, including multi-mode fiber and fiber plant identification.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (cable, rack diagrams) and site surveys.
  • Strong experience in change management and handling network cutovers.
  • Understanding of electrical loads (e.g., amp vs breaker capacity).
  • Familiarity with encryption, routing, and tunnel creation (DMVPN).
  • Strong knowledge of designing and implementing network architecture from scratch, not just replication.
  • Training and mentoring experience, including developing training materials and leading sessions.
  • Ability to identify IDF locations, manage rack and stack configurations, and troubleshoot cisco router issues.
