Design Science is looking for a Recruiter/Strategic Partnership Associate to join our team in our Evanston office. The Recruiter (SPA) is responsible for creating strategic approaches to attract a pool of qualified study participants for the purpose of testing medical devices before they go to market. We are human factors experts and conduct quality research to guide the user-centered design of healthcare products and improve usability, safety and appeal. Our SPA team gathers criteria for recruiting paid participants for study sessions in Philly, Evanston and off-site studies across the U.S.

The ideal candidate will have strong social and leadership skills, experienced negotiating strategies and excellent organizational abilities. They should be familiar with developing recruitment marketing strategies that effectively attract participants that could include patients, caregivers, nurses, or physicians. Building partnerships with organizations related to study groups and forging relationships with particpants will drive success in this role. The SPA is required to be in the office and will manage the front desk.
This is a salaried position and not commission based.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage recruiting particpants –  Post flyers and ads to initiate and maintain relationships with physicians, nurses, patients, caregivers and hospital systems while building the particpant database.Screen and source qualified participants dependent upon study criteria. Coordinate the recruitment process from screening through study execution. Build and maintain relationships with particpants while building the DS brand.
  • Strategize – Manage all stages of the recruitment process. Work with study teams to understand the participant needs of the organization. Seek out and develop partnerships with associations and groups i.e.; American Diabetes Association, Head and Neck Cancer Association etc. Create exciting and useful recruiting tactics to attract study participants. Draft and create screeners to phone screen potential participants. Collaborate with engineers and program managers to understand team needs and facilitate particpant recruitment processes.
  • Administrative duties –  Manage front desk and assist with signing in particpants on study execution days. Maintain scheduling grids and update Salesforce with particpant data. Create study schedules, communication emails to participants and sceening documents. Regularly builds out and uploads new participants list for current and future studies. Manage Attend recruiting events e.g, 5 K Diabetes Walk and other outside events to build partnerships with current and future participants.

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree is beneficial
  • 1-2 years minimum of direct recruiting experience managing all phases of the process
  • Proactive sourcing tactics and substantial initiative
  • Excellent time management abilities and a proven ability to meet deadlines
