OVERVIEW:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President of Elections Products will be instrumental in driving forward the development of EMS (Election Management System) software solutions. This executive position demands a strategic leader who can effectively leverage technology and lead teams to meet the evolving needs of clients while maintaining a steadfast commitment to delivering secure and high-quality products. Candidates must have demonstrated experience leading complex projects with large teams. Prior experience in Elections Software Development is preferred.

  • Strategic Leadership: Establish and provide visionary guidance and strategic direction for all aspects of product development, aligning initiatives with organizational objectives and market dynamics.

  • Product Oversight: Oversee the product strategy, while working closely with product managers and product analysts to ensure a high-quality product that meets the needs of the existing and future customers.

  • Quality Assurance: Uphold rigorous standards for product quality and security, overseeing comprehensive testing and compliance measures.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy EMS software solutions.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle from concept through deployment, ensuring integration of customer feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and high performance within the product development team.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and development teams to ensure products meet/exceed customer expectations and enhance user experience.
  • Responsible for vetting elections partners, opportunities, and technology.
  • Working in close collaboration with sales & marketing to set pricing and go to market strategies.
  • Main point of contact and liaison for executives and customer regarding all product related activities
  • Hiring and managing staff
  • In partnership with the business development department, represent the Canton Group elections offerings at conferences, client presentations, and other outreaching events.
  • Assist business development department in the pursuit of new opportunities by participating in the responses to RFIs, RFPs, and general sales inquiries.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least ten (10) years’ experience in product development, preferably in an elections or technology-focused environment.
  • Strong understanding of EMS software solutions, technology trends, and best practices in software development.
  • Experience managing large global teams. (Managing government clientele is preferred.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent situational awareness, the ability to remain calm under pressure and be cognizant of how you are perceived.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale software projects from conception to completion.
  • In-depth understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
  • Experience with election management systems or similar regulatory technology products is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices relevant to software development.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Track record of fostering cross-functional collaboration and driving consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with user experience (UX) design principles and best practices.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
  • May be required to work on-call or long hours, if necessary, in case of serious network malfunction.
