RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Essential Functions –

 

  • Provide clerical support to faculty, staff, and the coordinator of the practical nursing program with the day-to-day Nursing Education operations.
  • Receive and transmit communication accurately and promptly. Maintain a high standard of customer service and confidentiality at all times.
  • Provide a friendly customer service-oriented atmosphere. Maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
  • Attend departmental/program meetings as assigned, recording minutes as required; notify appropriate persons of meetings, distribute agendas, prepare and distribute minutes.
  • Communicate information to prospective and current students regarding individual programs and majors.
  • Process purchase orders for payment of invoices and communicate budget line-items totals.
  • Coordinate schedules and assist with supervision of work study student; delegate responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
  • Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.

 

Practical Nursing Program Essential Functions –

 

  • Responsible for processing and completing of applications during each admission period.
  • Maintain databases for student information and files for each cohort within the program.
  • Plan and fulfill meeting/event needs and travel arrangements.
  • Maintenance of clinical contracts in collaboration with Allied Health Retention/Compliance Specialist.
  • Assist with maintaining program website and social media with current information.

 

Secondary-

 

  • Provide support to the McPherson Center, including but not limited to coordinating exams for the Outreach center, assisting with the daily operations of the McPherson Center Bookstore, scheduling classroom space.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Practical Nursing Program Coordinator and/or Department 1 Chairperson.
  • Willingness to work days and/or weekend or evening hours as necessary.

 

QUALIFICATIONS – Essential:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; AAS Degree in Office Technologies preferred.
  • General clerical keyboarding skills required, with a preference for MS Office experience: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, with attention to detail and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to sit or stand in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time; perform keyboarding, operating office equipment, answering telephones, and other office equipment; excellent verbal, written and listening skills; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; use appropriate judgment and to apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; attentive to detail, accurately follow written and verbal instructions, work independently.
  • Sedentary/Indoor work environment with a substantial amount of keyboarding required.
  • Mental requirements include the ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions about the position.

HOURLY WAGE and STATUS:

 

The hourly rate of pay is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration.  This full-time support staff position is 12 months annual, benefit eligible, at will, and nonexempt.
