Description:

The Systems Engineer delivers force-level integrated and interoperable engineering solutions, mission critical control systems, and associated testing and training technologies. These systems provide Maritime Domain Awareness support to operational Fleet and shore-based activities. These capabilities provide support for the U.S. Navy ships and shore sites, Coast Guard, Joint, Allied, Coalition Forces; and evolving Expeditionary Warfare systems. Experience in the engineering, design, development, testing, maintenance (Fleet support), build, install, documentation, or configuration management of a U.S. Navy surface ship combat system

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering


Experience:


Ten (10) years of full-time professional experience in systems engineering including one year in support of a major shipboard systems; Three (3) years must have been full-time experience at the system level general combat system engineering experience is defined as:

(i) Experience in the engineering, design, development, testing, maintenance (Fleet support), build, install, documentation, or configuration management of a U.S. Navy surface ship combat system.

(ii) A combat system is an internetworked system of hardware, software and network components, capable of conducting the full spectrum of tasks required to detect, track, identify, engage and eliminate a hostile target. U.S. Navy surface ship combat systems include the Aegis Weapon System on guided missile cruisers and destroyers, the Ship Self-Defense System on Nuclear Aircraft Carriers and conventionally powered amphibious platforms, the ship defense capability for Littoral Combat Ship or the combat capability for the DDG-1000 class platform.

(iii) Experience in current (within the last 7 years) Navy Combat System Engineering is preferred.


Security Clearance:

Applicants may be required to have an active security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance as specified in the minimum qualifications. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD government-granted security clearance. Individuals will be subject to a background investigation to include but not be limited to, criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.
