Job Description

KMS is seeking an Engineering Technician III - IV experienced in underwater acoustics and Towed Arrays to work with a team of Engineers and Technicians across a portfolio of engineering services. Candidate will also engage with Senior Engineers for design reviews, troubleshooting, and implementing technical solutions associated with US Navy related acoustics systems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of software and/or hardware engineering activities of an analysis, design, or test nature.
  • Participates on project teams and performs alongside engineers and technical staff.
  • Plans and conducts research, development, or installation of products and systems in conformance with engineering design and customer specification.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: HS Degree
  • Minimum Experience: Three years of experience with acoustic sensors and signal processing. The experience shall also include a thorough understanding of in-water measurement arrays, equipment maintenance, and the interfacing of hardware and software for operation of measurement arrays.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Desired experience:

  • Towed Array handling, installations, maintenance, and operation in US Navy environment.
  • Advanced technician skills, soldering, and troubleshooting electronic equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. The employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and must account for the hours in a pay period to maintain full-time status.

Telework:

This is a hybrid position that includes both onsite and remote work.

Travel:

Up to 10% travel may be required.
