DESCRIPTION:


The Events and Group Sales Manager (titled: Executive Meeting Manager) will be responsible for generating revenues for restaurant, event space, catering sales, and group rooms. This key role will partner with hotel, restaurant and culinary management to book events for the catering department and restaurant.This role will be responsible for booking applicable rooms blocks that are both associated and not associated with events.This person will be responsible for coordinating bookings, contracting, and relaying all necessary information and/or changes to maximize event profitability, ensuring that our clients have a unique, second-to-none event. The Executive Meeting Manager is also responsible for the daily operations of the Event and Conference Services department.


Job duties include, but are not limited to:


  • Negotiating contracts for both groups and catering/restaurant events
  • Building and fostering relationships with clients by creating and coordinating meetings and events
  • Generating detailed group resumes and conduct department meetings with Hotel Department Heads to ensure all information is communicated.
  • Optimizing room rental and AV charges and strategic upselling program to positively influence revenue opportunities
  • Assisting with the monthly forecasting and the annual budget process
  • Handling special projects as requested by the Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Conducting event and meeting space site inspections both in-house and off-property, and maintain relationships thorough follow-up methods
  • Preparing and presenting proposals and contracts both written and verbal in a prompt, accurate, pleasant, and professional manner
  • Ensuring billing accuracy and conducting bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill
  • Managing group room blocks and meeting space for groups and events
  • Leading formal pre-event and post-event meetings for small to average-sized assigned groups
  • Developing and working from a quarterly action plan that encompasses Account Management, New BusinessDevelopment and departmental profitability


REQUIREMENTS:


  • 1-3 years of hospitality experience in Sales/Events Operations
  • Thorough knowledge of sales techniques including excellent selling and negotiating skills with strong market and account knowledge
  • Creative and innovative; proactive and customer-oriented
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Excellent knowledge of computers, specifically Lightspeed, Ci/TY, Word, Excel and event management software and customer management platform
  • Must have a flexible work schedule
