JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Program Manager’s responsibilities include working with Hyundai Transys headquarters and cross-functional teams to lead business development and new business teams for various launch initiatives. This position will also manage project teams for all model refreshes, and new programs to meet project deliverables on time, within budget and scope while meeting or exceeding projected business benefits. The Project Manager will define the project’s scope/objectives and manage the project through all phases of project life cycle.

Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Responsible for supporting Hyundai Transys headquarters and cross-functional teams to lead business development, new business initiatives, and model refreshes
  • Manage seat development function at Automotive OEM and Tier levels. Serve as a technical and program manage lead for activities and discussion with customer and internal related teams in USA, Korea, and all related locations
  • Develop program scopes and objectives; coordinate with Operations, Quality, Sales, Finance, Direct Customers, and all relevant stakeholders to identify goals, schedule, budget, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining high quality and customer satisfaction standards
  • Develop and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements; using appropriate verification techniques
  • Manage project teams for all model refreshes, and new programs to meet project deliverables on time, within budget and scope
  • Understands how to identify resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities to internal and external project team members.
  • Minimizes exposure and risk on projects through contingency planning and risk mitigation
  • Develop a detailed program to track progress and provide communication against the plan to team members, stakeholders, steering committee, and executives
  • Communicate to an array of internal, customer, and contractor officials the status of projects
  • Develop updates and charts, presentations, and reports for internal/external customers to review project progress daily/weekly, or as required
  • Report project performance tracking that includes measurement against budgeted costs, operational revenue and profitability as defined in the overall business case
  • Manage change control so that as potential scope changes arise, they are each carefully analyzed, reviewed, and appropriately approved.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Manage the relationship with the client and stakeholders to ensure timely, effective, successful launch of programs
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Travel to customer sites as needed/required for in-person meeting updates, launch support, etc.
  • Investigate and report in written about all process in customer, related on product development
  • Attend the all meeting related on engineering or development
  • Act as the primary point of contact with related Customer teams
  • Build strong customer relationships that providing value to the company and provide for increased confidence/desire to work with the company.
  • Provide “voice of the customer” to COO and Headquarter management teams
  • Comply with and promote company practices and policies in all areas including Safety, Standards of Conduct, Quality, Performance, and Communication.
  • Be flexible in work to support continuous improvement activities that will ensure personal and company growth.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience

Working Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of project management experience required
  • 3+ years of automotive seating experience required
  • Tier 1 automotive experience preferred, but not required
  • Six Sigma Certification preferred, but not required
  • PMP Certification preferred, but not required

Technical Skills Required:

  • Must have knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies
  • Must be proficient using MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project; SAP experience a plus
  • Must have strong organization skills with demonstrated ability to multitask and leverage appropriate prioritization strategy
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to produce agreed upon outcomes within an SLA framework in a fast paced environment
  • Must be a self-starter and driven
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with highest level of confidentiality
  • Strong work ethic and highly motivated while being patient and adaptable
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills, with an emphasis on being proactive
  • Strong ability to provide positive customer (internal/external) service
  • Positively interact with professionalism, and

The employee generally works in an indoor office and warehouse environment but occasionally works outside, in all types of weather and on uneven terrain.
