POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for ensuring the security of enterprise assets, guests and team members by investigating human activities and events that have indications of possibly inappropriate, compliance regulations, AZ Gaming Compact violations, or criminal conduct, and closing those investigations with determinations as to causes, responsibilities and methods to prevent repeat occurrences and perform the following duties personally, as well as demonstrating the GILA WAY.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Promotes and provides excellent guest service experience to both internal and external guests.
  • Performs investigative activities in order to determine underlying causes, involved parties, property risks/losses, and risks related to erroneous, inappropriate and/or criminal activities occurring on enterprise property.
  • Writes and distributes factually accurate and thorough reports, on a timely basis, to the Regulatory Compliance Office and/or Chief Security Surveillance Officer.
  • Responsible for maintaining Title 31 surveillance records and requests.
  • Performs Title 31 investigative activities based on OF-6 requests submitted by the Regulatory Compliance Office department.
  • Reviews and takes appropriate actions, in coordination with the Regulatory Compliance Officer and Chief Security Surveillance Officer, regarding specific incidents referred for investigation.
  • Develops and maintains excellent communication relationships with the entire GRGE staff, Tribal Gaming Office, investigative service providers, Site Managers, Tribal Police, other law enforcement authorities, etc.
  • Maintains the ability and willingness to work rotating shifts (day, swing, grave), weekends, holidays and differing work locations as called upon based on business needs and events that have occurred or may occur.
  • Maintains updated and contemporary knowledge of potential threats, criminal tendencies and trends, and preventative measures.
  • Maintains and updates knowledge of investigatory and questioning techniques to ensure gathering of all facts surrounding investigated subjects and events.
  • Performs as a liaison regarding security and safety matters with other departments and outside entities.
  • Constantly observes enterprise environments for indications of inappropriate and/or irregular activities, and takes proper investigative actions when indicated by events.
  • Utilizes fact-based decision making in lieu of opinion-, experience- or preference-based decision making.
  • Performs job duties in a manner that has as little invasiveness and notice-ability as possible.
  • Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness.
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities, but indirectly influences enterprise employee in their performance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Criminal Justice preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience in law enforcement, surveillance, or security and one (1) year of investigatory experience required.
  • Must be able to perform in a calm and responsible manner in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of casino video surveillance systems.
  • Must be available for 24/7 on-call work status.
  • Must possess a valid AZ driver’s license and clean driving record for the past five (5) years.

  • Must possess excellent guest service skills, strong telephone etiquette, a self-starter with the ability to follow-up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as well as to gain the cooperation of guests and fellow team members.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • This position must have, or an ability to acquire within one (1) year, an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities.
