Predicine is a global molecular insights company that is committed to advancing precision medicine in oncology. Predicine has developed a breakthrough cell-free DNA- and cell-free RNA-based liquid biopsy technology enabling minimally invasive molecular diagnosis for treatment selection, therapy monitoring, and minimal residual disease and early cancer detection. The company has launched a portfolio of blood-, urine- and tissue-based diagnostic assays for oncology.

Automation Intern:

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our automation team onsite in Hayward CA.

What you will get to do:

  • Gain expertise in automated systems, configuration management, testing and documentation
  • Gain hands on experience working with lab automation and robotics instrument systems
  • Shadow onsite service providers, vendors and Predicine automation engineers
  • Familiarize yourself with organize, inventory, and catalog instrument modules and components
  • Assist with automated reagent manufacturing instrumentation
  • Assist during functional testing of new automated lab solutions
  • Assist with configuration and service documentation
  • Assist with lab equipment checks (maintenance records, temperature alerts, communicating with operators)
  • Support day to day operations
  • Assist with instrument deck component assembly and QC

Qualifications / Education:

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in biological sciences automation engineering or chemical engineering.
  • Are naturally excited about biotechnology and its impact on medicine including the application of Next Generation Sequencing as a tool to improve patient outcomes
  • Think analytically, propose solutions, and take on troubleshooting of complex problems
  • Available for a minimum of 3 months
  • Able to work onsite in Hayward CA between 20-30hrs / week
  • Previous work experience in biotech/life sciences not required.
  • Proficiency with software applications beneficial

Location: Hayward CA

Pay Rate: Hourly ( Estimated : $18 per hour to $28 per hour)

Work Hours: Up to 30 hours per week

The posted salary range is the estimated base salary range for this position. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly.
