NexJ Health is looking for a part-time US Health Coach who is passionate about health and wellness to join our team.
In this role, the US Health Coach will be responsible for counselling clients on health behaviour change through our digital health platform, NexJ Connected Wellness. Coaches must be able to work flexible hours and attend weekly supervision and trainings sessions. Health Coach will be providing care in the United States. All client interactions and trainings are remote.
If you are someone who is passionate about health and wellness, committed to working in a team environment, an excellent communicator, and a quick learner, then you might be our next Health Coach.
Responsibilities:
- Use Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to support clients reach their personal health goals
- Manage a roster of clients and provide timely health behaviour change counselling through our digital platform, NexJ Connected Wellness
- Interact with clients via secure messaging, phone and video chat
- Complete accurate chart notes in a timely manner
- Maintain confidential information
- Contribute to the development of educational health content (on topics such as exercise, diet, and goal setting)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Kinesiology
- Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM - CEP)
- National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC- HWC)
- Proof of professional liability insurance
- Tech-savvy – able to work with technology and learn new applications as needed
- Experience working in a hospital, health clinic, university or in the private health care sector
- Experience working a broad age range of clientele and clients living with chronic conditions (diabetes, hypertension, etc.)
- Trained in coaching techniques such as Motivational Interviewing, goal setting and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills
- Demonstrates the capacity to multi-task, problem solve and prioritize effectively
- Experience working with clients with mental health concerns an asset
- Multilingual is an asset: Spanish and French
