JOB OVERVIEW:

The Project Accountant is responsible for supporting Project Managers and project teams with accounting and administrative duties related to their assigned projects to help ensure a profitable, successful projects.  Primary tasks include project invoicing and payment process, budget to job cost comparison, daily review of job cost related items, compliance tracking and change order preparation.


TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Works with the project management team to quickly buyout a project at commencement
  • Tracks compliance of all subcontractors and material suppliers
  • Scans and enters invoices from subcontractors into Viewpoint
  • Reviews material tickets daily that are received from the field to ensure accuracy of coding
  • Reviews AP unapproved invoices on a daily basis
  • Reviews subcontractor payments on a weekly basis and pay per company parameters
  • Prepares owner and subcontractor change orders
  • Preparation of monthly project billings; communicating with the project managers team the contract documents and change orders related to billing
  • Works with the project management team to keep accounts receivables current on projects
  • Analyzes projects on a monthly basis to prepare for financial closing
  • Prepares and distributes job cost analysis reports
  • Processes and submits to owner all weekly certified payroll reports for prevailing wage projects
  • Collects and manages payroll from subcontractors on prevailing wage projects
  • Assists the project management team with any duties required to complete projects on time and within budget


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting or related experience; preferably in the concrete industry
  • Proficient knowledge of excel, word and outlook
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Experience with tight deadlines
