We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer who who is an experienced Lean Practitioner. The ideal candidate would be a self-starting, hands on manufacturing process engineer who will provide process leadership and support of overall plant objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain machine and labor time based on times studies while working with Planning Dept on any changes needed.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for increased overall equipment effectiveness
  • Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste
  • Develop process documentation including Process Flow and VSM’s, Operator instructions, standardized work, and preventive maintenance recommendations
  • Partner with Production supervisors, M.E. team to establish proper material flow for Operations.
  • Work independently and with others to identify, implement and track cost savings ideas
  • Develop new tooling and/or gauging to meet customer requirements or resolve customer complaints using CAD
  • Train staff for new processes and providing instructions and manuals
  • New drawing review for process implementation and product assembly procedure.
  • Other duties as assigned

Credentials and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or equivalent and a minimum of two years of directly relevant working experience.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (Preferred)

Knowledge of:

  • CNC Machinery and Fabrication Equipment (Preferred)
  • Assembly Line product implementation and workflow (Required)
  • Automotive Torque Tooling and Work Cell development (Required)
  • A3 and Rolling Top 5 problem solving methodologies (Required)
  • Lean principles and tools
  • Excellent computer skills including high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • 3D CAD modeling and PDM software (experience with CREO is an asset)
  • Experience with an ERP system (experience with IFS desired)
  • Compressed Natural Gas systems (an asset but not required)

Ability to:

  • Ability to lead and work with diverse teams
  • Work under pressure
  • Be self-motivated with good troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Communicate complex information to all levels of employees and customers both verbally and written
  • Assess workload and develop priorities in a fast-growing organization
