We are looking for a passionate Assistant Production Manager for our Deck Department located in the Wildwood, Missouri location. This individual operates in a project management capacity and is the point-person for customer communications. The position reports to the Branch Manager of the Deck Department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicates with and provides exceptional customer service to property owners and fellow employees. Operates as the primary point of contact for the customer with the company.
  • Communicates daily with customers whose project is currently under construction, providing daily status updates while addressing customer concerns and questions.
  • Primary point of contact for customers who have not yet had their project installed as well as past customers.
  • Manages design aspect of the construction by working with third-party design team and gaining customer approval of final design.
  • Responsible for managing the regulatory requirements for a project including the build permit.
  • Leads by example and provides guidance regarding company policies and procedures such as safety, installation techniques, attendance, conduct and dress code.
  • Identifies problems with the project and follows through appropriately, consulting with Sales, the Branch Manager, the installation crews, or others as needed.
  • Key member of the team that evaluates and implements necessary process changes to ensure job quality and reduce waste and inefficiencies.
  • Partners with the Safety Manager to always ensure team’s compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates with back-office support to provide accurate information for invoicing and customer follow up upon job completion.
  • Performs certain administrative tasks related to customer satisfaction scores, project planning, installation quality, and accuracy of installation compared to original project scope.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to be a good team player including:

1) Commitment to ensuring the team succeeds with all tasks, duties, and projects, 2) Willingness to help a team member in need,

3) Commitment to making sure team members are informed on any developments related to projects or the company's overall business.

  • Ability to read and analyze or interpret design plans.
  • Must be able to track job progress and meet deadlines.
  • Must have a keen eye for detail and quality work.
  • Must be excellent communicator with customers, subs, technician's, and project managers including, at times, skilled conflict resolution.
  • Must understand what it takes to give world class customer service.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook, smart phone apps.
  • Ability to influence and lead employees of various skill levels and experience to ensure desired end result.
  • Must be the kind of leader that jumps in and “gets your hands dirty” every day to see that projects get done, done well and on time.
  • Typical work hours are Monday through Friday with weekend hours as needed.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of construction or carpentry experience is required.
  • Accomplishments in project management is required.
  • Previous experience leading work teams is helpful but not required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • $70-$80K depending on experience
