We are seeking an experienced and dedicated EHS Manager to join our team at our facility in Calhoun, GA, 30701. As the EHS Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations and promote a safe working environment. Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and address safety issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent future incidents
  • Measure and monitor TRIR and LTIR to identify trends and develop strategies for improvement
  • Perform machine safety inspections, ensuring compliance with regulations and implementing necessary changes to enhance safety
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on work safety practices, PPE, confined space, LOTO, fall protection, respiratory protection, forklift safety, emergency training, flammable materials, hazard communications, fire prevention, and correct handling and disposal techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement EHS policies and procedures
  • Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and prevent access to hazardous conditions
  • Assist in action taken in cases of emergency, including contacting outside agencies and coordinating internal responses
  • Maintains safety files and records/reports to OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory agencies
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations and industry best practices, making recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Manage incident reporting and investigation processes, ensuring accurate and timely documentation
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and participate in audits and inspections
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience within the EHS function, including DOT
  • Proven experience in leadership and people management, with the ability to motivate/inspire a team and develop a robust safety culture
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis techniques and the ability to apply them effectively
  • Experience in measuring and monitoring TRIR and LTIR to drive safety improvements
  • Expertise in conducting machine safety inspections and implementing necessary changes
  • Training experience, with the ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry best practices
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
