Job DescriptionJob Description

SUMMARY:

To provide strategic, operational, and day to day leadership to the manufacturing operations and manufacturing services function at our client, and to grow the business by increased productivity and profitability within a lean environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads performance in the planning, coordination, and control of all manufacturing, scheduling, and warehouse functions at company, and the personnel assigned to those functions.

Establish both quality and efficiency in all production processes to meet performance objectives.

Promote positive leadership to enforce safety goals and environmental programs for manufacturing operations.

Direct, monitor, and provide specific feedback on production issues, opportunities, and delays.This will require a proactive approach to investigation and analysis, troubleshooting and resolution.

Design and implement an on-time tracking systems to monitor manufacturing schedules and operations as necessary to ensure profitability, timely service, and product quality for strong customer service.Provide reports as requested or needed on all aspects of the manufacturing operation.

Lead the development and implementation of improved operating methods, via lean or other strategic manufacturing flow and business process systems and procedures to reduce costs, improve quality performance, and improve profitability.

Develop effective lines of communication and cooperation between corporate departments and functions within areas of responsibility.

Promote strong team-building skills.Demonstrate ability to mentor and motivate, as well as to delegate and empower others to succeed.

Formulate annual operational objectives and programs governing manufacturing, service and distribution.

Performs described duties to meet or exceed Customer, AS9100/ISO9001 and regulatory requirements.

Domestic and international travel may be required.

Performs other duties assigned by the President and Chief Executive Officer.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises cell leaders, purchasing, and scheduling.Direct reports may be added or subtracted over time.

Incumbent will carry out supervisory and managerial responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, applicable federal, state, and local laws.Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance: rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, resolving problems, and career development.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

BS in Operations Management, Industrial Management, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 10 plus years of manufacturing management experience.Experience in precision welding (tig, laser, brazing, and soldering), CNC and manual machining, and light assembly operations a plus.

Incumbent must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.Experience with computer database systems, Visual Manufacturing, and the development of labor standards for cost structure a plus.Must have a high level of energy, be results-oriented, confident and have strong people skills.Must be able to establish and maintain a strong rapport and positive relationships with all levels of staff.Must be strategic in his/her orientation, proactive, persistent, and able to handle multiple projects and customers simultaneously, as well as work within a very fast-paced environment.

Because the company runs at a very fast pace with multiple, rapidly changing priorities, the incumbent must be highly flexible, resilient, adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic organization with an evolving culture.Incumbent must enjoy a challenge, be passionate about his/her work and have a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to move throughout the shop floor.

Must be able to type and sit for an extended period of time.

Must be able to communicate effectively to team members.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

While on the shop floor, must wear appropriate skid resistant shoes and safety glasses.
