Committed to bridging traditional and virtual healthcare, we strive to make telemedicine accessible, effective, and patient-centric, setting a new standard of healthcare excellence.What you will do (The Candidate’s primary job focus/responsibilities)Conceptualize and develop 3D CAD models to assess and enhance new product designs, as well as facilitate modifications to existing products for specific customer needs.Lead the design, testing, and iteration process to ensure product alignment with specifications, proficiently managing CAD assemblies and generating detailed 2D production drawings.Serve as primary technical liaison between manufacturing partners. Ensure the prototype accurately and completely captures the intent of executive management (and customer, as applicable) in terms of appearance, functionality, usability, cost/profitability, and serviceability.Responsible for creating BOM (Bill of Material) for each product manufactured, maintaining an engineering library, generate CAD data and production drawings for products from the initial prototype to the most current revision.Responsible for quality control for all products manufactured by direct participation or observation, ensuring that processes and procedures exist and are diligently followed for each phase of the manufacturing process, from design to procurement to assembly and shipping. The Candidate is expected to design or create such processes and procedures, if they do not otherwise exist, or amend same, as applicable to assure that “best practices” are being utilized as an integral part of the QC process.Lead and oversee all areas of technical Research involving products. Research on all “peripherals” or product-imbedded screening and diagnostic devices. Identification of at least two best-in-class peripherals manufactured by separate vendors to allow for contingencies and ongoing competitive pricing.Ongoing market research into Telehealth solution competitors obtaining documented information to be shared with the executive committee as to design, functionality, pricing, and competitor-identified use case scenarios. In particular, the Candidate will evaluate competitors’ product line offerings by considering each of the above criteria to determine specific aspects. Peripheral product offerings could be regarded as offering differentiators for inclusion in the offering.Qualifications (Educational preferences)BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent industry experience.Hard Skills (Technical skills that the ideal candidate will have to succeed in this role)Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.Proficient in using CAD software (Preferably SolidWorks) for creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings.Proficient in creating assembly configurations, generating BOM, and maintaining revisions/CAD history.Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).Understanding of sheet metal fabrication/design processes such as gauge thickness selection, forming, stamping, and generating flat pattern view for production.Knowledge of low-volume manufacturing methods such as injection molding, thermoforming, 3D printing (additive manufacturing), CNC machining, etc.Experience working with multiple different materials and manufacturing methods (i.e., wood, plastic, adhesive, glass, etc.).Experience in creating assembly instructions and producing technical documentation (i.e., product manuals, spec sheets, etc.).Soft Skills (Intrapersonal skills that candidate must have to succeed in this role)Entrepreneurial passion to go the extra mile and build products.A self-directed, proactive individual with a Process-oriented mindset.Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Desire to learn new concepts/tools and implement them in daily practices.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
