Job Description
Renu Robotics is looking for a highly qualified candidate to join our team of engineers developing and improving our autonomous electric vehicles, implements, and accessories. This position will be involved in designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical systems and devices. This includes the development of new products, optimizing existing designs, and ensuring that mechanical systems function safely, effectively, efficiently, and reliably. The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of SolidWorks where all systems will be modeled and documented. The new employee will work in teams, communicate with suppliers, track projects, and build components and systems as needed for projects.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and Development:
o Create detailed engineering designs for mechanical systems and devices.
o Utilize SolidWorks software to develop 3D models, simulations and detailed documentation.
o Select materials and processes to create design parts.
o Develop prototypes and conduct tests to validate design concepts.
o Work with vendors to specify and recommend purchase of components
· Analysis and Testing:
o Perform engineering calculations to ensure designs meet specifications and standards.
o Conduct stress & strain analysis, thermal analysis, and other relevant tests.
o Analyze test results and implement design modifications as necessary.
· Project Management:
o Manage and oversee mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion.
o Coordinate with cross-functional teams having members from software development, electrical design, manufacturing, quality, sales, and finance.
o Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all required specifications.
· Documentation and Reporting:
o Prepare detailed documentation for designs, including technical drawings, specifications, and test reports.
o Maintain records of design changes and project progress.
o Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
· Maintenance and Optimization:
o Evaluate and improve existing mechanical systems and products for enhanced performance and efficiency.
o Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in existing systems.
o Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve mechanical processes.
· Compliance, Safety, and Quality:
o Perform quality assessments for developed systems improving performance and reliability.
o Ensure all mechanical designs and processes comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
o Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Qualifications:
· Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
o Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., PE - Professional Engineer) is a plus.
o Must be a US citizen
· Experience:
o Proven experience as a mechanical engineer or similar role.
o Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer
o Minimum of 3 years of SolidWorks experience
o Hands-on experience with product development and prototyping.
· Skills:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
o Proficiency in using engineering software and tools.
o Strong communication and teamwork skills.
o Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Working Conditions:
· Office environment with occasional visits to manufacturing sites, testing facilities, or client locations.
· May require occasional travel for project meetings, site inspections, or conferences.
