Job DescriptionJob Description

The Quality Compliance Specialist is responsible to ensure customer quality requirements are reviewed, planned, and implemented at the Bidding, Purchase Order-Receipt, and through completion of build stages. The Quality Compliance Specialist works closely with Pricing, Programs, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Export Compliance to identify quality compliance concerns based on current-state system and process capabilities/limitations and assists with recommending and implementing solutions to ensure compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilizes high level competency and knowledge of industry quality specifications (IPC, J-STD, AS, ISO, Mil-STD, etc.).
  • Performs in-depth reviews of all customer quality flow-downs on Supplier Quality Manuals, Purchase Orders, drawings/specs, Terms and Conditions (when applicable to quality concerns), and Quality specifications that are received at time of quoting and Purchase Order receipt for all ABT sites.
  • Creates Quality Plans in ABT System by reviewing all, but not limited to, the following:
    • Purchase Order Terms and Conditions, and other contractual requirements (sections which are applicable to quality flow-downs)
    • Customer Quality Clauses/Specs
    • Customer Drawings and Specs (which are applicable to quality flow-downs)
    • Certification and Quality System Requirements
    • FAI, FAT, PPAP, and other inspection requirements
  • Collaborates with Pricing, Programs, Operations, Engineering, Configurations, and Quality to understand system and process capabilities/limitations and assists with recommending and implementing solutions to ensure quality compliance.
  • Obtains and maintains access to Customer Portals for flow-down requirement documents.
  • Develops Customer Requirement Database to aid in efficient review and Quality Planning of future POs.
  • Aids Business Development and Pricing Teams with evaluating quality requirements and other flow-down requirements communicated by customers during the quoting phase.
  • Assist and support with quality related tasks on new product implementation from bid through qualification.
  • Supports internal QMS audits to ensure the company’s compliance with AS and ISO standards.
  • Performs other Quality related duties as required.

Job Requirements

  • BS Degree in related field or Quality experience in Manufacturing
  • Quality related certification(s) helpful
  • Experience in lean six sigma manufacturing environment
  • Experience in corrective actions and problem-solving utilizing tools such as FMEA, Fishbone, 5 Why, 8D, Value Stream Map, Process Flow, A3, etc.
  • Experience using Quality tools and practices
  • Excellent Problem Solving, Statistical and Analytical skills
  • Excellent computer skills. Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
