Job DescriptionJob Description

As a title clerk, you will ensure the smooth preparation of titles for all sold vehicles and manage the legal transfer of documents with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). This position requires meticulous attention to detail, compliance with state and federal regulations, and effective coordination with various departments to ensure timely and accurate title processing.

Title Clerk Compensation and Benefits: 

Title Clerk Competitive Salary: $23-$25/hr

Generous Paid Time Off (PTO):We prioritize work-life balance, offering industry-leading PTO. New full-time employees accrue 4 hours per pay period, totaling approximately 96 hours in the first year, with increases over time. 

Comprehensive Benefits Package: Hannah Motor Company provides extensive health benefits starting the first month after 60 days of employment. Options include medical, dental, vision, Health Savings and Flexible Spending accounts, life insurance, and short- and long-term disability, alongside a robust 401(k) plan for retirement planning. 

Paid Holidays: Hannah Motor Company offers at least 6paid holidays per year to the Title Clerk subject to completion of the introductory period and other eligibility requirements as per company policy. 

Title Clerk Responsibilities: 

  • Processing of licensing through VITU for Oregon deals.
  • Review and ensure all required paperwork for titling/registration is included and complete for every deal.
  • Prepare and process all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled with accuracy, ensuring docs are completed and filled out with correct information.
  • Verify funds have been collected prior to submitting documents to DMV.
  • Follow-up with lenders on outstanding titles when needed.
  • Reviews accounting schedule daily to ensure all licensing stays in compliance and clear any outstanding issues.
  • Promptly handle any Missing Requirement Request from DMV.
  • Communicate with lenders regarding delays and title status.
  • Basic accounts payable and receivable tasks.
  • Communicate closely with internal teams with any title document related issues.
  • Stays abreast of State title regulations.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and a neat work area.

 

Title Clerk Qualifications: 

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (including listening, speaking).
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Team player with positive attitude.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Physical ability to use computer hardware/software.
  • Computer literate (MS Word, Advanced Excel, Outlook,) 
  • Organized and extremely detail oriented.
  • Deadline-oriented.
  • Research skills.
  • General math skills.
  • Dealership accounting/automotive title experience preferred.
