Job Description

The Product Development Project Manager, Verification and Validation will be responsible for planning and executing the verification and validation test plan according to the defined project deliverables.  This includes identifying resources, securing budget, and coordinating the efforts of team members to deliver projects according to plan.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and ensuring all activities for Verification and Validation of features and vehicle regulations are identified, planned, optimized, and completed.
  • Represent Features Verification and Validation (FVV) in project management teams, design reviews, clinics, etc.
  • Manage all incoming test requests through risk management approach with support of Feature Leaders.
  • Identify resources and related costs needed to execute the V&V plan, such as simulation, rig testing, and test trucks.
  • Deliver and manage the Verification & Validation (V&V) test plan.
  • Deliver vehicle feature requirements and manage vehicle feature reviews.
  • Deliver project requirements with quality and on-time delivery, within cost, and fulfilling vehicle feature targets.
  • Verify and validate Hardware (HW) and Software (SW) components, systems, and functions in the V&V plan.
  • Lead feature reviews and report feature fulfillment, verification, and validation status.
  • Deliver feature requirements on a module level and support the break down to components, systems, and functions.
  • Deliver input to project documentation (e.g., requirement specification, project description, PAP / PDP, risk register, lessons learned).
  • Provide Vehicle and Powertrain engineering with prototypes and measurements for Hardware (HW) and Software (SW) components and systems during development to ensure product maturity.
  • Ensure that project time plans for commodities and modules cover all activities needed to fully verify and validate components, systems, and functions.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is required.  Master of Science in Engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Technical Project Management experience in the Automotive industry is required.
  • Experience with Hardware (HW) / Software (SW) vehicle integration is highly preferred.
  • Strong people / leadership skills, including team building, clear communication, results-oriented, courage and integrity, and good presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage Application projects.
  • Proven ability to manage projects multiple functional areas and locations, with 20 to 50 collaborators.
  • Proven ability to manage projects with low to medium integration complexity.
  • Proven ability to manage projects with low to medium risk level.
  • Proven ability to manage projects with budgets of up to $12M.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Microsoft Project.


Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP Certification is highly preferred.
  • Proven Agile method experience is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with North American automotive safety regulations (FMVSS / CMVSS) is preferred.
  • Experience with Quality tools (Risk Analysis, FMEA, Project Assurance Quality, etc.) is preferred.


Additional Information

  • Will be required to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
