Wind Turbine Inspector

Work in remote locations across the United States on a team or individually to perform tower inspections as a representative for the customer. Work will be performed on the ground and at height. Many operations will be performed without direct supervision and will require professionalism when coordinating work schedules and daily tasks with representatives from other companies on site.

Primary Responsibilities

- Work with the customer to create clear expectations

- Become familiar with the turbine manufacture installation manual and turbine specifications

- Perform LOTO and shut down procedures

- Inspection of turbine tower components, blades, nacelle, powertrain, and hub as they are delivered.

- Document any damages that may have occurred during the offloading process. Provide photos of affected areas

- Partake in up tower walk down inspections with other related work groups

- Work with the turbine supplier, BOP and tower wiring contractor to formulate tower mechanical punch lists and forward to the project manager for documentation

- Perform initial post commissioning inspection walk downs to ensure that all mechanical punch list items were corrected

- Document any non-conformance items and present to the project manager

- Conduct daily discrepancy meetings with contractor and manufacture representatives

- Perform specific up tower inspections for unique problems as directed by the site manager

- Actively monitor worksite safety conditions

- Ability to complete daily paperwork and inspection reports in a timely manner

- Willingness to work at heights

- Willingness to work long hours in uncomfortable conditions (10-12 hour days, 6 days a week)

- Willingness to work in windy, rainy, snowy, and hot/sunny conditions

- Willingness to undergo background inspection (not always required)

- Willingness to undergo regular drug testing

- 2 years working on a top out or an MCC crew

- Experience working at height

Preferred Qualifications/Experiences

- High school diploma or equivalent

- OSHA 10 Hr Construction

- NFPA 70E

- GWO Basic Safety Certification

- Borescope knowledge and experience
