Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a New Patient Representative. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of scheduling for new patient referrals within our large cardiology practice. Your primary duties will include scheduling appointments, collecting patient demographics, data entry in EPIC, generating internal electronic referrals, and facilitating communication with referring provider offices to ensure timely and accurate coordination of care and request for all necessary documentation and records for appointment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Schedule all new patient referrals in accordance with practice and provider protocols
  2. Contact patients to gather demographic information and ensure accuracy of patient electronic medical record
  3. Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently in Epic EMR
  4. Generate internal electronic referrals for new patient appointments, ensuring all necessary authorization information is documented and communicated effectively.
  5. Conduct outreach to referring provider offices to communicate referral status updates and secure all required medical records
  6. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and referring providers, addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
  7. Heavy Phones- handle all incoming New patient scheduling calls
  8. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
  9. Assist with other administrative tasks and projects as needed within the cardiology practice

Requirements:

  1. Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor
  2. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  5. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and workload demands

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required

Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, communications, or related field preferred.

Previous experience in healthcare scheduling or related administrative role preferred

Proficiency with EPIC EMR system preferred

Knowledge of cardiology terminology and procedures is preferred
