Director of Laboratory Services (Southfield, MI) Responsibilities include: Testing daily patient specimens, as well as observing first level instrument maintenance and troubleshooting with the support of laboratory staff. Managing and adhering to protocols and quality measures while performing sample preparation and operating laboratory instrumentation. Managing and performing production workflow as described in standard operating procedures. Managing and performing sample receiving, preparation, and accessioning as described in standard operating procedures. Maintaining laboratory documentation. Managing laboratory inventory and ordering additional supplies as needed and in compliance with process instructions. Ensuring process is compliant with the lab’s standard operating procedures as well as relevant laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the laboratory. Proactively promoting client satisfaction. Leading the tracking and completion of projects. Working independently and as part of a team. Completing mandatory training and professional development as required. Attending company meetings as required. Providing special support/assistance with CLIA standards/certifications. Ensuring adherence to all State and Federal laws, guidelines and regulations including compliance with CLIA and CAP regulations. Maintaining HIPAA requirements at all times. Adhering specifically to all company policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations, and laws. M.S. in Forensic Science and 12 months exp as a Scientist/Toxicologist. 12 mon. in: Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS); Sample receiving, preparation, and accessioning; maintaining laboratory documentation; CLIA standards/certifications; HIPAA requirements; COVID/PCR: Running COVID samples, reporting results to patients/state; CLIA/COLA Certification readiness; Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). 40 hrs/wk. 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
