Job Title : SRE and Linux Systems Engineer

Job Type : W2 / C2C / 1099

Experience : 9 to 22 Years

Location : Austin, Texas

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix fundamentals and network concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with shell scripting and languages such as Bash, Zsh, Perl, Python, C/C++, Go, and Java.
  • Experience with configuration management and Infrastructure as Code tools like Ansible, Puppet, Terraform/Terragrunt, and CloudFormation.
  • Basic understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker or Podman, and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes or Apache Mesos.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across functional teams.
  • Awareness of key security principles including encryption and key exchange protocols.
  • Basic understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles including monitoring, alerting, error budgets, fault analysis, and automation.
  • Skills assessment: Applicants must be proficient in at least one programming language (Perl, Python, C/C++, Go, Java, or similar).
  • Include a LinkedIn profile for candidates to verify authenticity.
  • Vendor to verify the candidate's identity and work experience before submitting the profile.
  • Resumes should be limited to 4 pages or less (ideally 2 to 3 pages), with a summary of skills on the first page. Resume font should be 10pts or larger. PDF preferred. Lengthy or unreadable resumes will be rejected.
  • Create tooling to assist in the implementation, maintenance, and support of monitoring, observability, alerting, and logging systems to ensure they remain available and highly reliable.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of automated processes and tooling, such as writing Ansible playbooks and tools to monitor different API endpoints.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and proactively identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Document workflows and procedures, and write and validate run books.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
