Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement software solutions and automation workflows for IT infrastructure.
  • Independently create best-practice code for the integration and management of diverse applications focused on process automation.
  • Deploy production-ready code using industry-standard testing and deployment methodologies, including unit and acceptance testing.
  • Utilize web frameworks (e.g., Flask or Django) to develop full-featured RESTful APIs.
  • Document and enhance automation services, ensuring they are responsive and data-driven.
  • Refine server OS deployment and provisioning processes through automation.
  • Support IT applications, including CMDB, ELK stack, and various database tools.
  • Contribute to the development of configuration management policies to streamline operations.
  • Engage in open-source tool development for Linux servers.
  • Conduct hands-on debugging and troubleshooting of applications with automation workflows.
  • Develop tools and automated flows for seamless integration into job scheduling systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate workflows and implement monitoring systems.
  • Champion the adoption of microservices and containerization best practices.
  • Continuously assess and improve IT process automation best practices.
  • Focus on executing project plans as defined by the IT team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT automation engineering.
  • Proficient in Python and Shell scripting.
  • Strong background in development best practices, including source control and code reviews.
  • Experience in producing production-ready code with testing and deployment best practices.
  • Familiarity with API development (Flask, Django, or similar).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and software testing frameworks.
  • Expertise in managing open-source tools and application stacks on Linux.
  • Proficient in a variety of Linux operating system commands and utilities.
  • Experience with Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in designing and developing enterprise-scale software solutions.
  • Proficient in configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
