Director of Outpatient Services


This position requires a dual role of clinician and program director, with 20 hours dedicated to maintaining a clinical caseload and 20 hours to maintaining the responsibilities of running the outpatient therapy program at the Innova Recovery Center. The position requires a LICENSED individual with sustained knowledge of mental health treatment who is also confident leading a clinical program.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:


Clinical

  • Runs weekly case-consultations for the clinical team and provides yearly training to clinical staff.
  • Distributes administrative updates to staff once a month.
  • Provides additional intervention, training, and support to clinical staff as needed during the week regarding issues such as general problem solving, mandated reporting, changes in levels of care, ethical code compliance, crisis intervention, etc.
  • Oversees onboarding and training for new clinicians and is responsible for monitoring clinician schedules, assignment of new clients, caseloads.
  • Manages client complaints and works with staff to resolve issues and ensure great customer care is provided.
  • Delivers individual therapy and performs case management duties to 15 clients a week.
  • Completes weekly audits of clinical charts and follow up with clinicians to ensure compliance with documentation standards.
  • Ensures a high degree of ethical and professional standards are followed by all staff members.

 

Administrative

  • Responsible for weekly monitoring of census and admissions in the OP program with a focus on ensuring goals are met.
  • Presents weekly reporting for OP program.
  • Participates in weekly director’s meeting, morning meeting, and supervisors meeting.
  • Assists in completing payroll for OP team, which includes auditing and approval of all clinician timesheets.
  • Maintains adequate staff coverage and approves the use of time off/PTO for all clinical and OP staff.
  • Conducts all interviewing and hiring for outpatient program.
  • Supervises and directs personnel related issues.
  • Assists with development and enforcement of outpatient program policies and procedures.
  • All other administrative duties as assigned needed to support the development and performance of the outpatient program.

 

Compliance

  • This position will also be responsible for reviewing and ensuring program compliance with BHEC, Texas Family Law, Texas HHS and HIPPA.
  • The Outpatient Director will act as HIPPA Privacy officer for the Regional Office

 

Competencies:

  • Considerable knowledge of psychotherapy and mental health care practices.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical programming in different levels of care.
  • Ability to establish constructive working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of diversity and ability to work effectively with different personalities.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, ability to motivate others and delegate tasks.
  • Sustained knowledge in best practices and ethical standards and ability to oversee compliance.
  • Ability to construct and present weekly reports and follow trends of the program.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience working in a clinical mental health setting.
  • Education: Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or mental health related field.
  • Experienced knowledge of executing tasks/presentations via Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of working in the mental health field.
