Water Resources Project Manager


Position Summary


Are you a Water Resources Project Manager looking to expand your leadership opportunities? VS Engineering needs a strong leader capable in complex design services and project management for water resource engineering projects including water, wastewater, storm water, civil site, and/or watershed projects. Our Indianapolis Office is the headquarters for VS Engineering and boasts our largest Transportation, Water Resources, and Structural teams. Our Water Resources team includes a wide variety of experience levels with expertise in water, wastewater, and stormwater projects for local cities, counties, and the state. Our Noblesville office also offers an alternative location for employees' northeast of Indianapolis.


A Typical Day May Include

  • Project management responsibilities including monitoring scope, budgeting, staffing and production of assigned water resources projects.
  • Developing existing and new client relationships, leading staff and project teams, helping VS grow water resources project portfolio.
  • Works with clients to pursue project funding through available funding agencies while following funding agency practices and policies.
  • Prepare and contribute to portions of water resources project proposals, change orders, client contract and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Generating water resources designs aligning with the most up to date design standards
  • Research and prepare preliminary reports and feasibility studies.

Requirements:

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in IN or KY or OH
  • 7+ years' experience is designing water resource projects.
  • 3+ years' experience managing projects and leading project teams.
  • Background working on public sector design projects like INDOT/ODOT, county, and municipal design projects, etc.
  • Experience with water and/or wastewater, combined sewer overflow consolidation, and municipal program management.
  • Preferred technical knowledge / computer skills:
    • MicroStation/AutoCAD Civil 3D
    • ArcGIS, GIS, ArcMAP
    • Experience with various water resources software modeling packages.
    • Drainage software including StormCAD and CDSS
    • Microsoft Office products: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
    • Adobe
