Director of Operations

Summary
Our Director of Operations means entering a world where organization meets agility. This is a multifaceted position that requires a keen eye for detail, a knack for multitasking, and the ability to lead a team towards achieving the smooth operation of our stores.
In this role, you are the backbone of the store's daily functions, overseeing everything from inventory management to staff scheduling, and from customer service to sales strategies.
Every day presents a new set of challenges and opportunities to improve the shopping experience and operational efficiency. This position combines hands-on management with strategic oversight.
Day to Day
You will be responsible for managing the staff, stock, and sales goals of the stores as a whole, focus on placement and sales for particular products, developing sales strategies and performance goals, researching and working with vendors, ordering inventory, maintaining detailed records for analysis, and evaluating sales performance.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience as a store manager or retail purchaser.
- Experience in personnel management (interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, evaluation, and discipline
- Proven ability to develop and implement budgets and to adhere to cost and margin requirements
- Previous experience with ordering, pricing and inventory control
- Strong organizational skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to manage and motivate staff
- Ability to plan, develop, implement and assess systems for efficient and productive operations
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Commitment to superior customer service and to providing the highest qualify shopping experience possible
- Ability to work well with others in a cooperative environment where teamwork and constant communication is essential
Physical Requirements

- Ability to use computer keyboard, monitor, mouse, telephone, and various office equipment continuously.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds frequently.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand or walk for 2 hours without rest.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs or ladder.
- Ability to reach above shoulder height frequently.
- Ability to talk and hear to communicate with customers.
- Finger and hand dexterity with ability to grasp and hold items of different sizes.
- Vision ability – close, distance, peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Ability to read register screen and product and shelf labels
