Job Summary

We're seeking a part-time, 3 day a week, Veterinary Practice Manager to bring their expertise and enthusiasm to our family-owned mobile surgery practice located in North Austin, Texas. This role is not only pivotal in managing our day-to-day operations, but will work on driving growth, and stepping in to support our clinical team as a surgical technician. The practice manager would work closely with the practice owner and staff to ensure the highest levels of customer service and patient care are met by striving for excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Veterinary Management Experience: We're looking for someone with at least two years of experience leading veterinary teams. Your knowledge will help us maintain our high standards and compassionate service.
  • Hands-On Clinical Skills: If you've worked as a Veterinary Technician, especially assisting in surgeries, you'll be a great fit We appreciate skills in anesthesia monitoring, maintaining sterile environments, catheter placement, and patient restraint. Experience with surgical note-taking is also highly valued.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with EzyVet practice management software is a big plus.

Responsibilities and Duties 
2 days a week focused on Practice Manager duties, 1 day a week as Veterinary Technician

  • Administrative Oversight
    • Manage weekly accounts receivable, invoice/payment processing, pursuit of delinquent accounts and work with our accountants to maintain accurate financial records.
    • Oversee supply ordering, and inventory management.
    • Maintain state and DEA licensure, organize and record CE for all DVMs and LVTs, manage controlled substance reporting and ensure continued OSHA compliance.
    • Manage company insurance, employee health coverage and assist with some tax processes. 
  • Human Resources Management
    • Conduct payroll processing, oversee production calculations, manage time off and new staff onboarding. 
    • Perform quarterly and annual performance reviews, and facilitate goal setting and staff appreciation initiatives. Assist with weekly team meeting agenda.
  • Growth Initiatives
    • Collaborate with recruiters to hire a new mobile surgeon and recruit supporting technicians.
    • Spearhead new client outreach and onboarding, update marketing materials and develop strategies to expand MVS’ territory while maintaining referral vet relations.
    • Monitor KPIs and develop processes to improve MVS’ efficiency in day to day operations
  • Clinical Support
    • Availability to work one day a week (preferably Friday) as a surgical Veterinary Technician assisting with anesthesia monitoring and note taking. Training on specifics to the mobile specialty surgery workflow will be provided. 
    • Flexibility to cover shifts in case of team members' absence is appreciated.
