  • Manage all aspects of heavy civil construction projects, including utilities, excavation, dirt work, and asphalt paving.
  • Prepare estimates and bid packages; manage each project through to completion.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors regarding project costs, staffing, scheduling, and updates.
  • Provide estimating costing and submit bids on public and private projects, coordinating with the Construction Manager and/or Chief Estimator.
  • Oversee subcontracts and sub-contractor coordination, ensuring proper execution of contracts.
  • Manage project schedules, material requests, and approvals.
  • Coordinate project-specific training, safety, and EEOC compliance.
  • Attend pre-construction conferences with the Production Department and/or owner.
  • Prepare and approve monthly pay estimates, ensuring accuracy.
  • Maintain daily project logs and quantity records.
  • Negotiate all contract change orders in writing before work is accomplished.
  • Respond timely to all owner and sub-contractor correspondence.
  • Approve all subcontractor and supplier invoices.
Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience in heavy civil project management, project coordination, field management, and/or bidding and estimating. A degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering may substitute for experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of heavy civil construction through a combination of field and office experience, including utilities (wet), excavation, dirt work, and asphalt paving.
  • Commitment to safety, performance, and adherence to OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and all other company or state regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
