The Material Planner will be responsible for planning, buying, and monitoring purchased parts. This position will work with the materials and production team to ensure there is an adequate amount of material on hand to support daily production needs. They will be responsible for issuing purchase orders and working with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with suppliers to order and plan parts based on the forecast and production requirements.
  • Ensure suppliers meet delivery dates and other service commitments.
  • Work with materials team to maintain accurate on hand inventory.
  • Work with engineering, quality, and materials personnel on the release of new parts or revisions.
  • Coordinate replacement parts from new or existing suppliers to ensure obsolescence is minimized.
  • Work with other departments to resolve any open issues that involve purchased parts.
  • Recommend solutions to reduce or eliminate issues and increase profitability.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, management, or supply chain management preferred, but not required.
  • 2+ years buying/planning experience preferred, but not required.
  • Creative problem solving skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Critical and proactive thinker.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, quickly growing environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Data Management systems.
