- Summary:
The following job description is for Team Leaders at the SLC Receiving area in Vance, AL. The operation consists of various areas. Each operating area has similar essential duties and responsibilities which are outlined in the next paragraph.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, train, and confirm standardized work. Modify SWS to suit the consensus conditions; escalate any concerns
- Perform Process, 5S, and Standard Work audits
- Ensure operations understands TPM checks for process. Ensure downtime is logged for relevent equipment.
- Monitor processes known to having ongoing quality issues and audit quality key points as part of daily SWS audits. Take part in problem solving activities to eliminate top 5 issues.
- Maintain and send log book after every shift.
- Ensure training records and versatility is up to date, use SWS audits to check operator on process is fully trained. Ensure operator rotation is controlled to plan. Maintain & Update Circle of Skills.
- Record ideas for improvement. Present new issues and feedback to team on actions due for review.
- Perform duties of Team Member, on the operations floor.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

- Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with one to three months related experience and/or training.
- Skills and Knowledge:
Skills are required to perform multiple, non-technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices; operating equipment used in warehouse operations; operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications; and preparing and maintaining accurate records. In addition, The Team Leader must have the Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The Team Leader must have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. To perform this job successfully, a Team Leader should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and MS Outlook. Further training on the Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is provided on the job. Knowledge is required to perform basic math; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: basic computer use, basic vehicle maintenance, and safety practices and procedures.
- Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. The Team Member must have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
The Team Member must have a valid Driver’s License. Forklift operating license is preferred but n the job training is available.
