Ascend Elements is taking the lithium-ion battery industry to a higher level.

We are currently hiring a Security and Emergency Response Coordinator who will be responsible for overseeing facility security and emergency response to protect employees and company assets.

***This position is located at our new facility in Hopkinsville, KY

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and/or implement security protocols related to the storage of confidential information, develop and implement security strategies, create security policies and procedures, and coordinate security staff.
  • Collaborating with department managers to determine security needs.
  • Planning and implementing comprehensive security strategies.
  • Supervising and training security personnel.
  • Gathering security intelligence and implementing preventative measures.
  • Developing work schedules, allocating tasks, and monitoring personnel performance.
  • Coordinating responses to emergencies and alarms, as well as compiling incident reports.
  • Preparing surveillance equipment maintenance schedules and facilitating repairs in a timely manner.
  • Takes proactive steps to provide a safe and secure working environment to staff and visitors.
  • Provides specialized security for and monitors access to limited and restricted access areas such as inventory areas, network equipment areas, and employee files and confidential records.
  • Conducts regular walk-throughs and security inspections for assigned facilities.
  • Keeping abreast of new technologies and advancements in security services.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and security industry regulations.
  • Oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of security staff including security guards and access control clerks.
  • Coordinate and contract with local emergency response organizations: EMS, Fire, Police, Spill Response.
  • Develop, maintain, and update emergency response plans, including evacuation, shelter-in-place, and lockdown procedures.
  • Act as the incident commander during emergencies, coordinating the response efforts of internal security teams and external emergency services.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews and adjust emergency plans as necessary based on lessons learned.
  • Provide comprehensive training to new hires on security policies and emergency response procedures, ensuring preparedness and compliance.

Required Education and other Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field is preferred. However, relevant work history demonstrating a minimum of 7 years of experience in security management will be considered in place of a degree. This may include roles in corporate security, law enforcement, military, emergency management, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise in emergency management planning and implementation.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with relevant laws, regulations, and standards pertaining to security and emergency management.
  • Preferred certifications in security management or emergency management (e.g., CPP, CEM).
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
