Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummary: Oversees Medicaid clerks to ensure they are verifying patient eligibility in accordance with Kentucky State Medicaid, monitoring scheduling and arrangements from hospital discharges for non-emergency transportation, and obtaining referrals and prior authorizations from Primary Care Physicians.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Answering phone calls from patients, care givers, nursing homes, hospitals, and Medicaid representatives
  • Scheduling non-emergency transportation to and from appointments
  • Coordinating with hospitals and long-term care facilities to arrange discharges
  • Ensuring that clients meet eligibility standards set in place by State Medicaid
  • Obtaining referrals and prior authorizations from Medicaid for out of area transportation
  • Checking for efficiency in the Medicaid clerks
Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills; this position is responsible for coordination between the client, hospitals, dispatch and drivers
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Knowledge of Medicaid helpful
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer literacy – Word, Excel, Office
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Pre employment, post-accident, random and reasonable suspicion drug screens
  • National background check
