Job Description:

GoldenWolf is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer, PE ?to provide full-time, on-site support as part of the Defense Health Agency Headquarters Engineering Operations team in San Antonio, TX. This role involves developing and executing complex infrastructure repair and modernization projects while ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute large, complex infrastructure repair and modernization projects, including crafting performance work statements (PWS), developing estimates, and participating as a technical advisor in source selection boards.
  • Chair project execution and kick-off meetings, serve as Technical Representative, and perform Quality Assurance and Safety compliance visits.
  • Conduct functional testing and commissioning for government acceptance of systems through point-by-point verification of design, installation, functionality, and performance.
  • Provide highly technical engineering advice on compliance and quality management for major building physical plant systems, including HVAC, water distribution, plumbing, medical gas, security and communications, building automation, and fire suppression systems.
  • Support DHA Enterprise Water Treatment Management programs, collecting and validating program performance data and metrics for reporting.
  • Assist Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in improving energy performance and water treatment effectiveness.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing technical reviews and supervision to ensure their development in fieldwork and compliance with engineering procedures and DHA policies.
Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in applied mechanical engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) registration in mechanical engineering is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of documented qualifying practical experience in the healthcare field, and at least 5 years of design and consulting experience. Practical experience should involve direct responsibility for the operation, maintenance, repair, and management of large mechanical infrastructure systems supporting large institutional, industrial, or medical healthcare campuses. This experience must be recent, spanning continuously over the preceding three years.
  • US Citizen with National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Clearance or the ability to obtain said clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expert level skills and extensive practical experience in the mechanical trade discipline for accurately analyzing plans, data, designs, operations, and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to develop estimates and make recommendations for repairs, sustainment, and optimization of building physical plant and infrastructure systems.
  • Strong knowledge of local, municipal, and federal building codes, criteria, and standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communicative, diplomatic, and analytical skills for delivering high-quality presentations to executive leadership and large audiences.
