Quality Manager - Plymouth

Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems, sanitation processes and procedures to ensure the highest level of quality and food safety standards.

  • Develop and implement quality assurance programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and customer requirements.
  • Oversee and manage Sanitation and Quality staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify quality issues, non-compliance, and areas for improvement.
  • Lead investigations into quality incidents, customer complaints, and product traceability, and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish quality metrics, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train and educate employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices, fostering a culture of quality and accountability.
  • Foster strong relationships with regulatory agencies, auditors, and suppliers to ensure compliance and maintain certifications.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new regulations, and emerging technologies related to quality management in the food manufacturing sector.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Manufacturing - Operations, Vice President of Food Safety & Quality Systems, or the Director of Quality Systems.

What You Can Offer

  • Bachelor Degree in Food Science, Quality Systems, related field or equivalent experience. Yellow Belt Certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, methodologies, and tools such as Quality Concepts, Lean Six Sigma-Measure and Analyze, Lean Six Sigma-Improve and Control, Lean Six Sigma-Implementation, Lean Manufacturing Overview, ISO 9001 Internal Auditor, HACCP, and PCQI certification are all preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in Quality and Sanitation in a food manufacturing environment is required. Six Sigma experience is preferred.
  • Ability to act as a direct liaison between general production and management regarding quality and Food Safety issues.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and inspection protocol (e.g. FDA, USDA, and WDA).
  • Knowledge of the ERP computer system, Red Zone Production Management, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to assess quality and be firm in decisions.
