Role Description:

The Lead Operator role will work under the Production Manager. This position will work side by side with operators to keep the supervisor informed of issues (space, equipment, procedures, training, etc.). The Lead Operator will be directly involved in new employee orientation and training, creating and fostering a professional environment through leadership and direct interaction.

What you’ll do:

  • Advise the Supervisor of daily manpower needs
  • Will be working team lead and will be assigned to pick, scan and load as needed
  • Verify accuracy on all shipments as directed and assist in trouble shooting orders
  • Ensure proper handling of product during dock, scan, load, unload and put away processes per standards
  • Complete daily reports including but not limited to shift summary, production reporting and programming machines
  • Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime
  • Assist in physical inventory
  • Other duties as assigned

What we’re looking for:

  • 4+ years of progressive experience
  • Must be able to read English, count accurate, add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, compute ratio, percent and write legibly
  • Require excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, customers and training classes.
  • Have experience with the ability to operate injection molding machines, CNC machines, and Vac form machines
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment and cover all operator job functions at any time
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and diagrammatic or schedule form
  • Capable of repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.; must be able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to multi-task daily activities
