Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. San Luis Obispo offers the excitement of a lively community while being a fifteen-minute drive from the serenity of Avila Beach, known for their natural hot springs, and Pismo Beach, known for their sand dunes and eucalyptus trees. Featuring a charming downtown, comfortable coastal weather, idyllic views, and an active lifestyle San Luis Obispo offers much to be had.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Administer respiratory care to patients in an acute care setting in accordance with department policy and procedure. Provides care to all patients in the following areas (but not limited to) Critical Care areas, sub- acute areas, Peds, NICU, L/D, the outpatient departments, and the Emergency Department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Able to perform arterial puncture and arterial blood gas analyses. Skilled in ventilator management, NPPV, CPAP, IPPV, IPV, CPR, aerosol administration, Incentive Spirometry, oxygen administration, airway management ( includes mechanical suctioning devices ), Chest Physiotherapy, Sputum Induction, Acquiring patient EKG's, and simple spirometries. Orientation to care of the pediatric patient and annual competencies addressing the care of infants, children, adolescents, and adults.
Education and Work Experience:
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program: Required
- At least 2 years of neonatal Intubation and transport experience: Required
Licenses and Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association: Required
- NRP: Required
- ACLS: Required
- PALS: Required
- State of California RCP licensure: Required
ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Adventist Health is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our associates and patients. Therefore, we require that all associates receive all required vaccinations, including, but not limited to, measles, mumps, flu (based on the seasonal availability of the flu vaccine typically during October-March each year), COVID-19 vaccine (required in CA, HI and OR) etc., as a condition of employment, and annually thereafter. Medical and religious exemptions may apply.
3, 12.5-hour shifts from 7pm-7:30am
36 hours per week
